I’m jumping back on the wagon again in a attempt to kick start my blog and keep my current, new and potential clients updated with what’s happened since my last update earlier this year. I’ve discovered that keeping my social media and news feeds updated has been difficult.
I moved my website earlier this year to SquareSpace, it is a very flexible and powerful website platform. It’s hosted and maintained by Squarespace and has great tools for design and content management. After a few months using their services I determined that I needed more flexibility for my Photography website and greater functionality as well.
So, I took the plunge back into WordPress, this offers me more custom control over search engine optimization, a great RSS feed into my news page from Jacksonville Real Estate News from bizjournals.com. This offers my website readers up to date Jacksonville real estate news and I’ve performed a few other upgrades using the WordPress platform.
It also made sense to move back to WordPress because adding Web Design, Development and Hosting services as part of my business was a long term goal. And since I’ll be selling WordPress I figured it made sense to build my new website using it.
I have been interested in web design as far back as the early 90’s when I was using America Online as a portal to surf the “World Wide Web”. My early interest was in retail sales using eBay as a platform and using off-eBay websites powered by PHP shopping cart software like X-Cart and CS-Cart to offer my products for sale to save money on the fee’s eBay was charging.
I have added a new Web Design section to my website. I will be offering services for Web Design, Development and Hosting. These services are targeted for clients interested in having a web presence, updating their current site or moving their website to a great hosting provider. As part of this new service I’ll be deploying Squarespace sites under the “Starter” package and WordPress for “Standard” and “Professional” packages.
The “Starter” package is for those who just need a website up quickly to offer information, pull in leads and give customers a way to contact them. I could even add a simple IDX iFrame from the MLS.
The “Standard” and “Professional” packages are on the WordPress platform and gives more flexibility for adding features like Testimonials, Event Calendar, Custom SEO, eCommerce, Integrated IDX and more.
I’m building out my portfolio, so I’m looking for 1 to 2 clients willing to try out my web design services. Since this will be a trial run we’ll discuss discounts on my services and work together closely on delivering a great product for your business!
I’ll be back in a week or two with new updates.
Have a Happy New Year!
